TVLine interviews Ed about Chuck’s ‘obsession’ with Blair and more

When The CW’s Gossip Girlreturns this Monday at 8/7c, Chuck and Blair’s happy reunion will be put on hold. So, what happened after the pair seemingly sealed their future together in the fall finale? Will it drive Chuck back to his old ways? And should he be worried about Blair’s new confidant, Dan? TVLine went to Ed Westwick for the answers to those questions and others!

TVLINE | Obviously Chuck’s not dead. But is he carrying any sort of emotional or physical scars from what happened?
I think so. I don’t see how you can’t after anything as traumatic as that. Not just that – the amount the guy’s been through [over] the course of the show has just been devastating. You hear stories sometimes on TV shows and these people are giving accounts of their lives and all the travesties that they’ve encountered, troubles they’ve encountered. I think Chuck is one of those characters. If it was real life, he could write a book. There’s going to be some emotional and some physical wounds, I’m sure. The emotional are probably going to be a lot more [heavy] than the physical.

Look who is returning in the Spring…

Uncle Jack is back!

Desmond Harrington has inked a deal to reprise his role as Chuck’s duplicitous Uncle Jack on Gossip Girl later this season, executive producer Josh Safran confirms to TVLine exclusively.

The Dexter regular made a cameo of sorts in Gossip Girl‘s fall finale when Jack’s voice was heard on the other end of a phone conversation with Liz Hurley’s Diana. This time, he’ll be returning in the flesh — and it sounds like he’ll be sticking around.

“He’ll be back for the last third of the season,” Safran reveals. “When Jack returns, he and Chuck are on good terms. Their story is more of a fun story than an antagonistic story. It’s really twisty and comic. And there might be some secrets that Jack will help Chuck to uncover.”

Gossip Girl returns from its holiday hiatus next Monday.

Chuck and Blair – Hints of an endgame

I made this for my tumblr and decided to share it with you too since this is a Chair blog 😀

Chuck and Blair | Hints of a future wedding / endgame plan

1) Mentions of the word ~ wife

JACK: Is this who Chuck Bass imagines himself to be? A man who goes to the office, then comes home to wife? It’s no coincidence your father had his most success when he was single.

CHUCK: I don’t need your help. Stop trying to play the wife. (2.15, Gone With The Will)

2) The “carrying the bride” look-a-like scene (4.08, Juliet doesn’t live here anymore)
3) Mentions of Marriage Vows – “I do”; promises of a life together in the future

CHUCK: [about saying I love you earlier in the episode] You gonna say something this time?
BLAIR: I will. I-I mean… I do.

CHUCK: We’ll build our future together.

CHUCK: If two people are meant to be together, eventually they’ll find their way back.
BLAIR: Do you really believe that?
CHUCK: I do.
BLAIR: So do I.

Afterthoughts: War At The Roses

Raise and shine Upper Eastsider it’s officially Fall and when the leaves start to turn, we know it’s time for B.’s birthday.” Gossip Girl (Kristen Bell).  Another episode, another party, yay… But wait! It’s Blair’s almost birthday party, and this one’s gonna be good.

And because I’m such in a good mood I give you two quotes:

We’re not a couple, we’re not a war, we officially have no reason to interact besides social nicety.” Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick) to Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). Mind you they were both in the beginning. Continue reading
