Ed joins “A Conspiracy On Jekyll Island”

Frank Grillo is set star along with Dianna Agron, John Leguizamo, Minnie Driver, Ed Westwick and Maggie Q in indie thriller “A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island” from “The Butler” producer Hilary Shor.

Aram Rappaport is directing from a script he wrote and helped develop with Shor. The two began developing the script during the shoot for Shor’s “The Paperboy.”

Story follows an ex-Wall Street man, played by Grillo whom the Secretary of the Treasury enlists to thwart a cyber attack that threatens to derail the American economy. With the help of his wife, he recruits his ragtag team of misfits, and prepares to save the world from total financial implosion.

“Aram is one of the new breed of writer directors. For me to get on board with him was a no brainer … he has it all as an emerging talent,” Shor said. “The recent events transpiring within our federal government make this film topical and poignant. I think we’re all wondering what’s going to happen to our money.”

Production begins next month.

Grillo, who is repped by CAA and Management 360, has several pics set to bow in the next year, including “Homefront” with Jason Statham and James Franco and Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

The UTA and Untitled Entertainment-repped Driver can be seen next in “Return to Zero.”

Rappaport is repped Gersh and manager Margrit Polak.

LEIGHTON MEESTER has been announced as the new face of Biotherm skincare. The actress, who starred as Blair Waldorf alongside Blake Lively, Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford in Gossip Girl, will appear in the brand’s campaigns from the beginning of 2014.

“What I love about Biotherm is that it’s always evolving and changing and becoming more modern,” said the actress.

And Biotherm seems equally enamoured with her. “Leighton Meester is a contemporary icon, a young star whose natural talent, energy and beauty have made her the face of a generation,” said general manager Patrick Kullenberg.

Meester was chosen as the face of Vera Wang’s Lovestruck fragrance in 2011 and has also appeared in Herbal Essences and Missoni campaigns.
